Fans of ‘The Sopranos’ will often argue the show’s place in history as the greatest television series. However, even the biggest fans find it difficult to defend the controversial ending to the series. Luckily the show’s creator, David Chase, may have accidentally revealed some information recently that answers the one question many had at the end of the final episode; Is Tony Soprano alive or dead?
When ‘The Sopranos’ ended in 2007; many fans were upset, not just because the show was ending, but how the series ended. The final episode leaves fans asking questions, as the episode ends as Tony Soprano is being approached by a gunman, as ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ plays, and the screen fades to black. Now, David Chase has revealed what actually happened to the show’s main character; even if he didn’t mean to.
In the interview, Chase said of the final scene “Yes, I think I had that death scene around two years before the end … But we didn’t do that.” When it was pointed out he referred to it as his death scene, all Chase could say was, “Fuck you guys” knowing he just let half the internet down.
