It has been over a year since the initial release of Billie Eilish’s hit song ‘Bad Guy,’ and yet its popularity doesn’t seem to be fading. It’s not just her version of the song that people are listening too though, as now a parody version of the song is gaining popularity as well. A fan recently reimagined Eilish’s song as an anthem for the game ‘Animal Crossing’ and it has quickly gone viral.
Since its release last month, the fifth installment of the popular Nintendo simulation game, ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons,’ has seen a significant surge in players. With so many playing the game, complaints about the game have become common on the Internet. Now, one of those complaints has been made into a Billie Eilish parody song, ‘Bass Guy.’
The song is about the difficulties of catching bass in the animal adventure game. “Cuz I’m the bass guy, always fishing trash guy, pretty crappy catch guy, Nintendo please patch guy,” are the lyrics to the song’s chorus. The video has since been viewed over 500,000 times, and with many stuck at home playing ‘Animal Crossing,’ the song may soon become a hit.
