Henry Cavill isn’t ready to give up on playing the role of Superman just yet. The actor, who has portrayed the “Man of Steel” in three different DC Universe films, is reportedly in talks to return as Superman for future DC Comic projects. While fan reaction was mixed, Cavill recently discussed the role saying, “The cape is still in the closet. It’s still mine.”

While the film’s in which Cavill portrayed Superman have been heavily criticized by fans, each have led to box office success for the film. Cavill starred in 2013’s ‘Man of Steel,’ along with 2016’s ‘Batman v Superman,’ and 2017’s ‘Justice League.’ While no Superman solo projects are in the works, Cavill may appear in upcoming films; ‘Aquaman 2,’ ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘The Batman.’

‘Justice League’ director Zach Snyder recently revealed the long asked for “Snyder Cut” will be released on HBO Max, but Cavill won’t be suiting up for any potential reshoots for the film. Instead he will focus on future projects, saying “I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet.” Hopefully Cavill is ready to bring something new to the role.
