Director James Gunn is known to have fun with fans on social media, often answering questions and starting rumors about his films. Now, his latest response to a fans question may lead to a crossover film between iconic characters. Answering a question about directing a Scooby-Doo film, James Gunn said he would want to see a crossover between the beloved crime solving dog and the Suicide Squad.

James Gunn, director of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Marvel series, is currently working to finish his ‘Suicide Squad’ reboot. However, he may need to start working on some changes after saying on social media he wants to see a Scooby-Doo/Suicide Squad crossover. “Scooby & the Guardians might be unlikely considering it’s Warners/Disney. But, you know, an animated Mystery Ink/The Suicide Squad film is always possible,” said Gunn in response to fan suggesting a Scooby-Doo project with Rocket from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.

While this crossover is unlikely to ever actually happen, fans are on Gunn’s side in wanting to see Scooby-Doo join forces with the Suicide Squad. As for the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ film, there are still currently no delays due to the coronavirus. If everything goes as planned, it will be released in August, 2021.
