Andy Warhol clearly had a large impact on American culture, as any form of entertainment looking back on his era makes mention of the eccentric artist. Now, it appears a biopic about Warhol is in the works and an actor who has long been rumored to be playing Warhol has confirmed his role. Jared Leto took to social media recently to confirm he will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming movie.
Responding to rumors he was playing Andy Warhol, Jared Leto shared a post on Instagram, confirming his part in the upcoming film. ““Yes it’s true I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film” adding that was “so grateful and excited about the opportunity,” said Leto along with birthday wishes for the late artist. Leto gave no further details about the project.
Not much is known about the Andy Warhol biopic, but at one time it was rumored that Leto was attached to a Warhol project from ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ writer Terence Winter. Leto’s post included photos of Warhol, but fans were left wondering when they will see this film. For now, they will just have to wait to see Leto take on the role of Andy Warhol.
