Regardless of age, adults are always trying to feel as young as possible. For many young adults, they just got their first glimpse that they aren’t as young as they think. A video has gone viral on TikTok showing kids have a new hand gesture to symbol they are talking on the phone, and it has many feeling very old.
In the video, a dad gives a shout out to all the people born in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, as apparently those born after 2000 have adopted a new hand gesture for using the phone. As seen, the man shows the hand gesture many adults know as using the phone; a closed hand with the pinky and thumb extended by the mouth and ear respectively. Well apparently kids are now using a gesture that makes much more sense using a smartphone.
The now viral video shows kids use an entire flat hand next to their face to show they are talking on the phone. Adults of all ages were stunned by this, with no knowledge of when or how this started. For many millennials, this was the first sign that they aren’t the kids of the world anymore.
