There have been many unlikely musical pairings that have created greatness over the years. Sometimes it takes a clash of two styles to bring out the best in something. At least that’s what Marilyn Manson was hoping for when he recently told Brandi Carlisle he wants to do a duet of ‘Over The Rainbow’ with her.
During a recent interview, Brandi Carlisle told the story of the unlikely request, and claimed she was willing to participate. “Marilyn Manson wants to record ‘Over the Rainbow’ with me,” Carlisle told Lowe. “He’s been texting me about it,” said Carlisle, and when told by the interviewer she should “do that,” the country and folk singer replied, “Okay, I will.”
Carlisle had already covered the classic song from ‘Wizard of Oz,’ and apparently Manson was intrigued and wanted to be a part of it as well. The two musicians had interacted before, as Carlisle also told the story of Manson being brought to tears by one of her performances. While most wouldn’t expect these two to appear on the same song, many fans now can’t wait to hear the collaboration.
