One of the biggest stories of 2019 was the fast food wars that broke out after Popeye's debut their chicken sandwich. While many fans debated which sandwich was better; Chick-fil-A or Popeye's, a number of other fast food chains got on board, surprising fans with new items. While the flood of new menu items has slowed down in 2020, McDonalds seems ready to ramp things back up, announcing recently the addition of spicy McNuggets to their menu.
McDonalds' chicken McNuggets have had their fair share of controversy over the years, yet remained beloved by many. Now, for the first time since their introduction in 1983, McDonalds will offer a new flavor of McNugget, adding Spicy chicken nuggets to their menu. The new menu item will debut September 16th, and many fans are already counting down the days.
Along with the new nuggets, McDonalds announced they will also be adding a Chips Ahoy McFlurry flavor that will be available for a limited time. With these new items, McDonalds is challenging their competitors to come up with someone new of their own. It seems 2020 will have a fast food war of its own.
