‘Modern Family’ may have come to an end after eleven seasons on Wednesday, but the beloved characters could be returning to television in the near future. While discussing this week’s series finale, the show’s creators discussed the chances for a potential spin off. While nothing is set just yet, they brought up the possibility of a show following Mitch and Cam.
Even with many classic shows getting the revival treatment in recent years; ‘Modern Family’ fans couldn’t imagine hearing news of a possible return so fast. In a recent interview show creators, Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, discussed the possibility of forming another story based around the beloved characters, Mitch and Cam. While both claimed to not be currently thinking about anything, they didn’t shut down the possibility to do it in the future.
When asked about the potential spin off, Lloyd said “I’m not sure but we would be dumb not to explore it.” While that’s enough to get fans of the show excited, it most likely won’t be seen for a while, if ever. Still, with ‘Modern a Family’ ending after eleven seasons, fans are looking for anything to grasp on to.
