Fans of the hit NBC series ‘Parks & Recreation’ were surprised last week with a special reunion episode and it did not disappoint. The one time reunion was made to raise money for coronavirus relief, and involved the entire main cast. The half hour special was able to raise $2.8 million for the food charity, Feeding America.

Filmed separately, with cast members quarantined at home, the reunion special saw Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe, Adam Scott, Aziz Ansari, Retta and Jim O’Heir reprise their roles, as their characters video conferenced with each other. The characters discussed how they had been coping with social distancing measures.

The special also included memories of some of the show’s most iconic moments, along with Pratt singing ‘5,000 Candles In The Wind’ in tribute to Li’l Sebastian. State Farm, Subaru of America, NBCUniversal, as well as the producers, writers and cast of the show matched the donations from the show, bringing the total to $2.8 million. While it was said to be a one off special, fans are hoping the success of the reunion leads to more episodes in the future.
