The tattoo industry seemingly thrives on people going out, having a few drinks, and making a decision they may one day regret. However, with many bars and tattoo shops closed around the country, it seems people are now rethinking their previous body art. Since the start of the pandemic, tattoo removal has been on the rise, with more tattoo removal businesses starting to reopen.

The tattoo removal industry has been growing rapidly over the last few years, as the global market size is expected to reach $4.8 billion by 2023. Apparently with many stuck at home, people are now looking into getting their body art removed more than ever. “We are not surprised to see an uptick in interest in tattoo removal during this extraordinary time. We're hearing from so many people who are reflecting on their lives during quarantine," said Jo Kelton, COO of tattoo removal company Removery.

With more people getting their tattoos removed, many businesses in the industry are reopening. It seems tattoo shops are now hoping bars open up soon, so they can get back to earning their part of the market.
