As restaurants begin to reopen their doors to customers, many are continuing to adhere to social distancing rules by limiting capacity. For some, this raises the issue of awkward empty spaces eaters may not be used to. Already, a restaurant in Virginia decided to use mannequins to fill these empty spaces, and now a restaurant in South Carolina came up with a similar idea, using sex dolls to fill unused seats.

Open Hearth, a restaurant in South Carolina, was planning to reopen their indoor seating, but the owner wanted to come up with a way to keep customers distanced, without blocking off space with caution tape. "I dread putting that yellow tape across the booths and making everybody think that this is a condemned restaurant or that things are in bad shape," Paula Starr Melehes. After brainstorming with employees, they came up with the idea of filling seats with blow up sex dolls.

"They had no obscene body parts or anything like that. We found five men and five women that we decided to dress up with our own clothes and blow them up," said Melehes. While it may seem a bit odd to customers at first, it may attract a few more customers as well.
