Over the years, the ‘Star Wars’ franchise has grown well beyond the original trilogy, spawning multiple movies, television series, books and plenty of other forms of media revolving around the galaxy far, far away. However, even with all that content, most ‘Star Wars’ fans agree, the worst of it all is most like the ‘Star Wars Holiday Special’ from 1978. Now, that special is getting a Lego style reboot that will premiere on Disney Plus in November.

The ‘Lego Holiday Special’ will be a 45 minute long episode; poking fun at the infamous 1978 special that many thought would end the franchise. With each character in Lego form, the special will follow Rey on her journey to investigate the force, while Finn, Poe, Rose, and Chewbacca plan for the holiday season on Kashyyyk. It is unknown at this time if any of the actors form the film will reprise their roles.

The new holiday special will hit Disney’s streaming service on November 17th, the same date the original special aired in 1978. While the ‘Star Wars Holiday Special’ was seen at the time as a failure, it has gained a cult following over the years. Hopefully the Lego version can make even more fans grow to love the failed special.
