Watching television interviews take place over Zoom may be starting to get a bit old for some, but fans of ‘The Goonies’ got the video conferencing interview they’ve been waiting for this week. Actor Josh Gad held a reunion with some of the cast and crew of the classic movie on his new YouTube series this week, and it included a few surprises. One of the surprises was the inclusion of Steven Spielberg, who discussed a possible sequel in the future.

Josh Gad started off his new YouTube series, ‘Reunited Apart,’ with a bang on Monday, inviting actors Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Ke Huy Quan, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, Josh Brolin, and others, along with Spielberg, writer Chris Columbus and director Richard Donner for a Zoom reunion. The call began with Astin, who immediately jumped into Mikey's famous "Troy's Bucket" monologue, before the rest of the crew joined.

The real excitement came when Spielberg discussed plans for a sequel in the future. “Chris, Dick and I — and Lauren [Shuler Donner] — have had a lot of conversations about it. Every couple of years we come up with an idea but then it doesn’t hold water,” said Spielberg. Hopefully after this recent reunion, the crew can get back to working on new ideas.
