The first film in Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman trilogy isn't due out until 2021, but rumors are already starting to swirl about what could be coming in the film's future sequels. One rumor that has picked up steam lately is one that claims Robert Pattinson's Batman could eventually be going up against a new version of The Joker.
RUMOR: Matt Reeves will be getting his own Joker for his highly anticipated 'The Batman' films.
Joker is rumored to appear in the sequels. It'll be interesting to see if Phoenix/Phillips decide to make a sequel to their Joker as well. Two Jokers in two universes at once? Why not pic.twitter.com/rLkGerE2VR

While not much is known about the upcoming Batman film, nor its future sequels, it is believed that Batman's most iconic nemesis, The Joker, will be mentioned in Reeves' 'The Batman,' and will appear in the second and third installments of the trilogy. It is unknown if Reeves has discussed the role with the latest actor to portray The Joker, Joaquin Phoenix.
I am sure many people are tired of Joker being used but I'm not. Not only is he the Batman's greatest archenemy; He is one of the most iconic fictional characters in popular culture.

The Joker won't be the only villain to go up against the caped crusader in the upcoming trilogy. It is already known that the upcoming film will see Colin Farrell playing The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and John Turturro playing mob boss Carmine Falcone. As nothing has been confirmed about The Joker, fans will just have to wait until October 2021 to see if he's mentioned in the first film.
