Lana Del Rey shared a new song on Monday that was inspired by the recent mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas. The impromptu video, shared to Lana Del Rey’s Instagram page, features her singing a new song titled ‘Looking For America.’ According to the singer, the piece came together quickly thanks to Laura Sisk and Jack Antonoff.
In the video, Lana Del Rey is “singing love to the choruses” she had recorded earlier in the day. The singer stated in her post, “Now I know I'm not a politician and I'm not trying to be so excuse me for having an opinion, but in light of all of the mass shootings and the back to back shootings in the last couple of days which really affected me on a cellular level, I just wanted to post this video that our engineer Laura took 20 minutes ago. I hope you like it."
Lana Del Rey worked with engineer Laura Sisk and Bleachers frontman, Jack Antonoff to quickly put together this new song. Inspired by the mass shootings, Lana Del Rey quickly put the song together to honor the victims in Dayton and El Paso. Her first new album since 2017 is due out August 30th.
