In 2005, Fabio LaBrada lost his mother Raquel to cancer.

In honor of his mother, LaBrada decided to use his skills as a pilot in order to help others suffering from the same afflictions she did, and founded "Raquel's Wings," a nonprofit that transports cancer patients free of cost to the medical facility of their choice.

Last Saturday, hundreds of cyclists gathered in Decatur for a charity bike ride in order to help fund these trips.

Per NBC DFW, Raquel's Wings has taken more than 500 flights as of June 2021, and operates solely on donations, personal funds, and volunteers.
