When Gas Monkey Bar & Grill shut down in 2020, and later sold to new owners to become Amplified Live, many throughout DFW were stunned. However, it won’t be long before fans of the venue have somewhere new to go. Owner Richard Rawlings recently announced plans to open a new venue, Gas Monkey Dallas, in early 2022.
Richard Rawlings rose to fame thanks to the Discovery Channel show ‘Fast N’ Loud.’ He was able use that success in other ventures, opening Gas Monkey Bar & Grill in 2013. However, with that bar no longer in existence, Rawlings has decided it was time to try something new. “Gas Monkey Dallas will be easy to see, find and visit, with its access from LBJ Freeway. Our fans travel from all over the world to visit us in Dallas, and we want to make it just as easy for them to dine, drink and enjoy with us at our new playground,” said Rawlings.
According to Dallas Observer, the new venue is expected to open in early 2022. It will be located along LBJ Freeway near Luna Road in Farmers Branch, only a mile and a half from the Gas Monkey Garage. For Gas Monkey fans, they will soon have a home again.
