It was hard enough to understand some food trends even before TikTok. Now, it's downright impossible.
There is a growing trend in South Korea where people are deep drying and eating…toothpicks.
Now, toothpicks over there aren't made from wood. Instead, they are comprised of a mix of potato and corn starch, so in a way they are somewhat edible.
Still, health officials have warned people not to consume toothpicks. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said per Reuters, "This is not a product to eat. Their safety has not been verified."
