Coldplay are no strangers to a superstar collaboration. When the opportunity presents itself, they have no qualms about jumping head first into it.

Case in point? Coldplay just announced they’re teaming up with Selena Gomez on a new song that will be a part of their upcoming album Music Of The Spheres.

Gomez took to social media to share a visual of a technicolor planet Earth as a snippet of their new song “Let Somebody Go” plays in the background.

While the clip is only 15 seconds long, it packs a serious emotional punch as Gomez and Chris Martin sing, "when I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain/ They said love is only equal to the pain"

“Let Somebody Go” is set to be included on Coldplay’s upcoming studio album Music Of The Spheres, which is due out October 15th.

Preceding Gomez’s collaboration was news that Coldplay and BTS teamed up for the single “My Universe” that’s also set to appear on the record. The two superstar artists co-wrote the song together as a short documentary captured the work put into the collaboration.

“It’s been very cool to see each other and meet each personality and see how everyone’s very individual, but they still work as a group” Martin said of his time working with BTS.

Coldplay’s ninth studio album will arrive on October 15th and the band will celebrate by taking up a week-long residency on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Beginning October 18th, Coldplay will appear each night of the show and will be performing songs from their new album including a special appearance from Selena Gomez for “Let Somebody Go.”
