35-year-old Healy and his model girlfriend — now fianceé — Gabbriette Bechtel, took to social media to share the news with fans earlier this week after attending their friend, Charli XCX's Brat show in Brooklyn.
The announcement featured photos of Bechtel’s ring with a black gem and surrounding stones on the face and band.
"MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT," the model captioned her post, tagging Healy.
Matty's mom further confirmed the news when she appeared on Loose Women. "I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged,” she shared. “They went over to see their friends Charli and George in New York and I woke up this morning to the fact they’ve put it on Instagram. “
She also shared Matty had the the ring “made for her," and “couldn't be more thrilled” to welcome Gabbriette to the family.
