2020 was a down year for much of the restaurant industry, including Filipino fast food chain Jollibee that saw 500 stores close and losses in the hundreds of millions, however, the company is now preparing for a major expansion across America & Asia with 450 new stores.
The company is focusing on expanding "in markets where they have recovered fast from the pandemic," which includes their first San Francisco restaurant after a decade away.
Jollibee also is looking into acquiring more companies after 2019's acquisition of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Currently in America they operate locations in California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Washington, and Virginia.
