Amy Schumer's son is learning how to talk!
Schumer took to Instagram on Sunday with the moment of shock when she asked her 16-month-old son Gene David to say the word "dad," and he immediately parroted the word back to her.
"We just wanted to say hi Daddy, we miss you and we hope you're having a fun day," Schumer said to the camera in a message for husband Chris Fischer. "Can you say dad?" she asks her son.
Upon saying the word back to a group of celebratory adults in the room, Gene David begins to cry, upset by the sudden commotion. Schumer begins to reassure the child that everything is okay.
"This video was clearly a surprise to us," Schumer wrote alongside the video on Instagram. "Getting to experience these first moments with my son makes me feel so lucky."
The comedian then went on to shed light on a cause close to her heart, saying, "I think of my friend Angela Henry's son. I would like to ask anyone reading this to google DJ Henry."
Danroy "DJ" Henry was a Pace University student, fatally shot by a police officer in 2010.
Recently, Schumer shared a similar clip of baby Gene attempting to say the word "mom." Schumer can be heard asking Gene to say the word which he immediately repeats back to the cheers of people in the room.
Various celebs took to the comments section of the adorable post, sharing their excitement for one of Gene's first words.
Andy Cohen commented, "WE MISS GENE," while Beanie Feldstein commented simply, "AHHHHHHHHHH."
