To most, Pop-Tarts are just a delicious snack that comes in a variety of flavors, but to Jerry Seinfeld the fruit stuffed dessert is so much more.

The "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" star, 67, recently announced he will write, direct and star in a movie about the invention of the Pop-Tart. The film, entitled "Unfrosted," is being developed based on one of Seinfeld’s stand up jokes.

While not much is known about the film at this time, "Unfrosted" is expected to stream on Netflix when it is finally released.

“Stuck at home watching endless sad faces on TV, I thought this would be a good time to make something based on pure silliness, so we took my Pop-Tart stand-up bit from my last Netflix special and exploded it into a giant, crazy comedy movie," said Seinfeld.

In his Pop-Tart joke, which the film is being based on, Seinfeld recalls being blown away the first time he saw the beloved food item. Seinfeld joked that Pop-Tarts "can't go stale because they were never fresh."

According to The Week, the comedian has been working on this project for two years.

Soon enough fans will know the real secret behind their sweet treat.
