The latest Dungeons & Dragons pinball machine has arrived, and among the voice cast is none other than My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way.

A longtime D&D fan, Way shared his love for the game as far back as 2015 with a shoutout tweet, and more recently in 2020 when he shared images of himself playing D&D with his friends and family via Zoom during lockdown.
And now, the singer-songwriter, comic book writer, and The Umbrella Academy brainchild joins the likes of Dethklok’s Brendon Small, and filmmakers Kevin Smith and Chris Prynoski in contributing their vocal contributions to the arcade game.
And if you needed further proof as to just how hard Gerard geeks out on D&D.
Here’s what he had to say during interview with Time Out in 2015, when asked if MCR was the type of band thats frequents strip clubs. Way admitted they’d be happier playing video games, particularly D&D. “I always played a half-elven ranger, I like rangers – they can track things down and use a bow,” he explained.
“It was always hard finding clerics though: to find a friend of yours that’d want to play a guy with a mace that healed people. That was very hard.”
Officially called Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant’s Eye, the new game also boasts musical compositions from Chris Velasco (Bloodborne, Mass Effect 2).
Per the game’s description on Stern Pinball’s official YouTube, “Players are chosen members of the Dragonshield Guild, trying to defeat the dragon queen Tiamat, who is hatching a plan to rise again, triggering the War of Dragons, with Xanathar, Balinor and Sammaster all fighting for power.”
“Players will experience the game’s fantasy world under the glass, fusing pinball with the iconic franchise like never before,” the description continued to detail. Also delving into some elements of the game, The description went on to note, “Enjoy mysterious and exciting features by navigating through hidden passageways, experience an electromagnet-powered gelatinous cube that freezes the pinball, and explore dynamic dungeon levels that are accessed through a disappearing playfield trap door. Other features include Fizmo’s store that allows players to acquire unique items, a treasure chest that unleashes mimic monsters, and more secrets to uncover.”
