The next chance to win will come on Friday night, when the numbers are drawn once again.
January has a history of big prizes with $451 million won on January 5, 2018; $437 million on January 1, 2019; and $380 million on January 14, 2011.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, yet many are flocking to gas stations to take part in the 8th largest prize in their history.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, plus Washington and the US Virgin Islands. Maybe the prize will even continue to grow.
