Speaking with Revolver, Homme briefly discussed his health situation explaining, "I never say it can’t get any worse. I never say that, and I wouldn’t advise it. But I do say it can get better." Following the passing of friend Mark Lanegan and legal battles with his ex-wife, he said a cancer diagnosis was, "just the cherry on top of an interesting time period, you know? I'm extremely thankful that I’ll get through this, and I'll look back at this as something that’s f***ed up -- but will have made me better. I’m cool with that. There's a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with."

Queens of The Stone Age's 2023 album, In Times New Roman, will be available everywhere on June 16.

"I think this is the first time I didn't want to make a record, but I was dealing with a lot of stuff in my personal life," Homme says elsewhere in the interview. "We recorded a lot of stuff. I think I was doing it because when I'm in trouble, this is what I do. This is where I go to get right."

The band is also set to hit the road beginning on August 3. "When I'm on tour, I'm back on the streets where I belong," Josh adds. "I'm not such a caged animal out there." The east coast leg will feature support from Phantogram and The Armed, while Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth will provide opening duties on the mid-west and west coast dates. Tickets are on sale now.
