The world is full of distractions, and the biggest one of all seems to reside in your pocket.
Your cell phone connects you to the entire world, and people have a hard time spending any time away from it.
This may be jsut what inspired one industrial designer from South Korea.
Paeng Min-wook, 28, built a robotic third eye that sticks to your forehead that will scan for obstacles and allow you to walk and use your cell phone uninhibited and without fear of running into anything.
According to Reuters, the robotic eye, which even blinks, will alert you when you're walking within five feet of an obstacle.
Min-wook said the device is meant to be satire, and hopes it shows people how ridiculous their smartphone addiction is.
The designer gave a demonstration of the device in Seoul, and one person who witnessed it said that while it looked strange, it could reap some public safety benefits.
"I thought he looked like an alien with an eye on his forehead," said Lee Ok-jo, a Seoul resident and passerby of the demonstration.
"These days many young people can get into accidents while using their mobile phone. This would be good for them," Ok-jo added.
