Beloved guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced their first new album since 2019’s Mettavolution will be arriving on April 21. Produced by Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero themselves, the new album, In Between Thoughts... A New World, will also be celebrated with a world tour.

Speaking with Audacy host Canyon Cody, both Rodrigo and Gabriela reflected on the past two decades of their careers together and what feels different to them now with the imminent release of their sixth studio album.
"I think, you know, we are older now. We started this journey even before we went to Ireland in 1999," says Rodrigo. "We spent 10 years in Mexico in a metal band, so for us it's been over 30 years being in the industry somehow and I think at this time of our lives, the actual theme of the album... is a big indicator how things have changed for us not only in a professional way but more of a personal rite of the mind, I guess."
"For me," says Gabriela, "it just feel like when I go back and see where we started, it almost feels like it never happened. Like a past life or something, because it's just so far away. That brings me to the conclusion that is we're lucky to be able to keep working, and keep being able to keep releasing music. That we still have fun, still engaged with what we do no matter what even if we change a little bit. It means also that we still get away with it after all of these years, we're still here. We're still doing what we love to do with two acoustic guitars."

"Just to be more conscious of that," Rodrigo adds, "makes you see things different, to change the perspective of what you've done because when you are younger you don't know how lucky you are, being able to do what you love... it makes you grateful."
