Tom Hanks’ latest on-screen transformation has been revealed.
A first look of the 65-year-old Oscar winner as Geppetto in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of “Pinocchio” for Disney+ has been released.

In the first look, Hanks sports a wavy white wig and mustache as he looks intently at his latest wood creation, Pinocchio, on his workbench. Fans will recognize the beloved titular character as he sports the trademark yellow feathered cap and red shorts from the 1940 animated version.
Both films were adapted from Carlo Collodi’s 1883 children’s novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio.”
As you may recall, the classic story centers on the wood puppet as he embarks on a thrilling journey to become a real boy. Geppetto is the woodworker who creates Pinocchio and treats him like his real son.
Joining Hanks are Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket; Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key as “Honest” John; Luke Evans as The Coachman, and Lorraine Bracco as the new character called Sofia the Seagull.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth voices the titular role.
The film’s soundtrack will feature new songs as well as classics from the original, such as “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
Directing the project is Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, who previously worked with Hanks on “Cast Away," "The Polar Express" and "Forrest Gump."
“Pinocchio” will exclusively premiere on Disney+ in September.
