The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has unveiled a new, revamped lineup of summer entertainment called 'Evenings on the Colonnade' kicking off on June 16th.
The series includes free movies on the beach in front of The Colonnade and here's the lineup:
- June 17: 'The Goonies'
- June 24: '50 First Dates'
- July 1: 'Sing 2'
- July 8: 'Little Shop Of Horros'
- July 15: 'The Sandlot'
- July 22: 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife'
- July 29: 'Ironman'
- August 5: 'Trolls'
- August 12: 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'
- October 29 (Special Halloween Weekend screening): 'The Lost Boys'

There will be free music from local bands every Thursday night starting June 16th from 8:30-10PM on The Colonnade Stage. That lineup can be found here. When asked about their annual Free Bands on The Beach series and the change for 2022, the Boardwalk says: "Planning our summer band series with the large bandstand begins a year in advance and contracts with bands must be signed far in advance. In the late spring and early summer of 2021, we were in the early stages of reopening after COVID-19 shutdowns. Given the uncertainty at that time about future COVID restrictions and regulations, as well as staffing levels, we were unable to plan a traditional summer concert series for 2022. Hope this helps to understand why we had to go in this direction for 2022."
This will mark the return of the Boardwalk's summer entertainment options for the first time since 2019.
