What do Matt Damon and the late Heath Ledger have in common? They share the same tattoos.
For GQ’s October cover story, the 50-year-old actor revealed that he and wife, Luciana, paid tribute to “The Dark Knight” actor by tattooing one of his designs.

While Damon has a handful of tattoos, he explained that his first tattoo -- the word “Lucy” inked on his upper right arm -- was a result of his wife’s spontaneous idea.
"We were in our apartment in Manhattan, and she was, like, 'We're getting tattoos.' I was, 'Okay,’” he recalled of the moment.
Damon was down to get inked right then and there, but he stipulated that they had to use artist Scott Campbell, a friend who also did Ledger’s tattoos.
“I told him if I ever got a tattoo, he was my first phone call,” he admitted.
After getting his first tattoo, Damon saw one of Ledger’s abstract sketches.
Both Damon and his wife decided to get the one that “Heath had on his arm.”
"I just wanted to get something that Heath had," he remembered. "Scott showed me his laptop and I said, 'Scott, what's that one?' And he goes 'I have no idea— I think that's just some s--- that Heath squiggled.' And I went, 'That's the one I want.' "
Damon got the tattoo on his right arm, while his wife got the same tattoo on her foot.
The “Jason Bourne” star recalled that his “The Brothers Grimm” co-star was an “incredibly, restless, creative person.”
"He was really sensitive. This stuff just flowed out of him. He was really special,” he added.
Since then, Damon has added the names of his children to the same arm.
He explains that the design is a “creative little blessing.”
“It's like an angel that looks over all these names that are on the arm,” he noted.
The Australian actor passed away on January 22, 2008 at the age of 28 after an accidental overdose.
