With the official unveiling of Coachella's 2024 lineup, fans are getting ready to be treated to a bevy of incredible Alternative acts, including the blistering sounds of Deftones, a reunited Sublime featuring late singer Bradley Nowell's son, Jakob Nowell, and the first concert from Ska-Punk favorites No Doubt in almost a decade.

Aside from some of the genre's newcomers that will be taking Coachella's multiple stages across the Empire Polo Grounds over two weekends -- April 12-14 & 19-21, 2024 -- a number of throwbacks are set to keep fans in the mood.
The most unexpected of all this year is, of course, No Doubt's planned reunion, which seemingly came about thanks to a collage on singer Gwen Stefani's kitchen wall. In a post on Instagram, Gwen waxes poetic about a collage she created for the group's 1997 album Beacon Street Collection, leading her to reach out to her former bandmates Adrian Young, Tony Kanal, and Tom Dumont.
During a video chat, each of the members agree that getting together to play "a show" is definitely a task they would be willing to undertake. Though the video ends with a big red question mark, we now know that after way too many years apart the band will indeed be getting back together for this year's Coachella festivities.
Get your plaid pants and skirts pressed, as fans in attendance can expect a "Hella Good" set filled with tons of throwback favorites including their hits "Spiderwebs," "Just A Girl," "Don't Speak," and many more.

Just days before Sublime With Rome's Rome Ramirez dropped the revelation that at the end of 2024, he would be leaving the band, original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh reunited and enlisted late singer and songwriter Bradley Nowell's son, Jakob, for a Los Angeles reunion concert to benefit Bad Brains' H.R. Billed simply as Sublime for the 2024 edition of Coachella, it looks as though fans will be getting a repeat of this truly sentimental performance.
According to a press release, which also promises "additional music festivals in 2024," Jakob explained how he was feeling about the upcoming sets. “This has so many layers for me,” Jakob begins. “On a spiritual level, my father passed away when he was 28, and I am 28 now. It’s an honor to carry on with our family’s name and legacy with Sublime. I’ve been a performing musician with my own projects since I was 18. It’s an absolute privilege to be able to play these Sublime songs with legendary musicians like Eric and Bud," he says. "On a personal level, my Uncles Bud and Eric are meant to play these songs and the fans want to hear them. I’m excited, nervous, thankful, and humbled all at the same time to step into this role and start this new chapter. It feels like my big crazy family is finally back together and I couldn’t be more happy.”
As for Uncles Bud and Eric, they're just as thrilled to be bringing Jakob into the fold. “I knew I would be playing music with Eric again at some point, that was never a doubt,” Gaugh said of his 2011 split from Sublime with Rome. “But to be playing music with Eric and Jakob, it’s very reminiscent of those early days in Brad’s dad’s garage in a surrealistic kinda way. With Jake’s raw talent and the solid rhythm foundation Eric and I provide, this train is bound for glory!”
Wilson adds: “This is great because I haven’t had the opportunity to play with Bud Gaugh in over a decade; and to have Brad’s son playing our music is the closest thing possible to playing with my old buddy Brad.”

With nine incredible albums under their belts over a close to 30-year career, there's certainly cause to wonder how the band has managed to be left off of Coachella's lineups until now. But Alt-metal titans Deftones finally get their flowers this year with scheduled performances on the same days as fellow California dreamer Lana Del Rey. Can someone please make a duet happen between frontman Chino Moreno and Lana?
