Earlier this week, Pat Sajak made a heartfelt announcement at the end of an episode of "Wheel of Fortune."
The host of the famous game show revealed that his son, Patrick Sajak, graduated from medical school, making him now the father of a doctor.
While talking to co-host Vanna White, Sajak asked if she minded if he did “a little parents bragging.”
“So you know my son, Patrick, you’ve known him all his life. Well he’s made it through medical school, and he is now officially Dr. Sajak, and we’re all thrilled.” He then joked that the only “troubling part” of the news is that “he insists that I call him Dr. Sajak.”
Sajak added that his wife Lesly, who also shares daughter Maggie, “couldn’t be prouder” of Patrick.
While the 74-year-old is proud of his son for becoming a doctor, back in 2019, Sajak experienced a terrifying experience with his own health.
White hosted the show while host Sajak had to undergo surgery to correct a blocked intestine in November of 2019. She filmed three weeks' worth of episodes as the fill-in host before Sajak returned for his first episode back that aired on December 9, 2019.
Back in December of 2019, Sajak opened up about the health crisis. In an interview with "Good Morning America," Sajak said he was back in the studio and "feeling great."
The "Wheel of Fortune" host explained the day he felt a "horrific pain" that turned out to be a blocked intestine. He said that if doctors didn't operate right away, he could have died.
Now Sajak will have a medical professional in the family.
