2023 Best New Artist GRAMMY nominees Måneskin joined Megan Holiday backstage in the Forum Club at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles during 2022's KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert to discuss the band's past year of incredible accomplishments, including providing support for The Rolling Stones, working on their new album Rush, touring the festival circuit and more.
Of all the past year's experiences, it's hard for singer Damiano David to choose just one as the top accomplishment. "We had so many amazing experiences... we opened for The Stones, we played the most important festivals in the world. The whole thing, the whole year that we lived is very special," he admits.
Meeting guitarist Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, "was one of the best interactions ever," Damiano adds. Affecting a raspy Richards impersonation, he continues, "because he was like, 'OK guys, I don't know who you are but somebody told me that you play guitar, so very good. Stick with it,' and disappeared."
Besides racking up dream meetings while on the road, the band has been working on their upcoming album, Rush, set to arrive in January. "It's been amazing to get to travel so much and be on the road for months," says bassist Victoria De Angelis. "It has given us a lot of inspiration; we were just listening to the record on the way coming here and we really can't wait to release it and share with everyone."
