Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Updated vote figures released Friday morning by Nevada's Secretary of State office failed to bring good news for President Trump.

New numbers show that Democratic challenger Joe Biden nearly doubled his lead in the state, picking up another 10,000 votes to stretch his lead to more than 21,000.

How it stands: Joe Biden: 49.76% (626,211) - Donald Trump: 48.13% (605,669). The difference in votes is 20,542

After vote tabulations were finished on Election Night, Biden held an 8,000 vote lead on Trump.  The number increased to more than 11,000 votes on Thursday.  Voting figures are also being released on a county by county basis.

State law allows the count of mail ballots postmarked on or before Election Day (November 3) and received no later than 5:00 pm on November 10th.

All ballots in the state must be counted by November 12th.

In Clark County, Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria says the media will be briefed on new vote totals each morning until all votes are tallied.

Thursday morning, the Trump campaign and Nevada Republicans announced it would file a lawsuit in federal district court asking a judge to stop the count of mail in ballots in Nevada.  The campaign alleges thousands of people voted in Clark County that either no longer live here or were dead. There’s a 30-day residency requirement in Nevada or you can’t cast a vote here.

The Trump campaign says they’re filing the lawsuit to protect legal voters, saying Clark County officials aren’t answering their questions.
