    Shara Dae Howard

Shara Dae Howard is an editor and reporter at KYW Newsradio.

She joined the staff following a three-year stint as a newsroom assistant at CBS-3. Shara is an unabashed Temple Owl with an affinity for community affairs, finance, and fast cars. She spent more than 20 years in wealth management, working for small boutique firms before making the transition into journalism.

While at Temple University, Shara majored in Broadcast Journalism with a focus on Global Development. Shara got her start in broadcasting as an intern at WPVI-TV. While with 6ABC, she co-produced a story that was carried by Good Morning America in 2013. Shortly after, Shara landed a job at the Assignment Desk at CBS-3 in 2014, where along with fielding news stories, she field produced and co-produced a number of special projects ranging from investigative reporting and health and science to community affairs.

Vintage cars, motorcycles, and antiques serve as very meaningful hobbies to Shara, but they don't distract her from the purposeful work of community service. Shara served on the Board of the Attic Youth Center for four years and is a mentor to lesbian, gay, and transgender youth in Philadelphia. Shara is an active poet, musician, and vocalist with a penchant for politics and a healthy respect for the Fourth Estate. Her future goals include publishing a full-length book of her poetry and completing the restoration of a early 20th century Mercedes Gulwing.
