It's been over 35 years since Kevin Costner first had the idea for the story of 'Horizon: An American Saga' and it all comes to fruition this Friday, June 28 when the first of a four film installment hits theaters.

‘Horizon’ chronicles 15 years of pre and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. Set against the visually stunning landscape of the vast frontier, the film provides a thought-provoking and unforgiving look at America’s past in a cinematic spectacle of scope, scale and character. It is an epic journey told through the eyes of many. The first film sets the scene of a clash between American settlers and the indigenous people who already live there.

Laura Boss sat down with award winning actor and director Kevin Costner at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia to discuss the film. Costner co-wrote, produced, directed and co-stars in the epic western. The film boasts an all-star ensemble cast including Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Owen Crow Shoe, Danny Huston, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Will Patton, and Luke Wilson.

‘Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1’ opens in theaters Friday, June 28, 2024. The second chapter of the series is set to be released on August 16, 2024.
