Philadelphia trails named among top 10 best in the country

The snow is melting, the birds are chirping, and the sunlight is lasting ever so longer each day; ahhhh, it’s Spring.

What better way to safely enjoy the gradual warming weather than to get outside and get fresh air! With promising COVID trends and a rise in the vaccinated population, visiting local trails for a hike and outdoor activities may be a great physically and mentally refreshing way to ring in Spring.

Did you know that three trails in Pennsylvania were just ranked in USA Today’s 10Best Competition? Two of which are even here in Philadelphia! Read below to find out more.

The Schuylkill River Trail, located in Philadelphia, came in #3 for Best Riverwalk in USA Today’s 10Best. The 120-mile trail extends through Montco, Chester, Berks, Schuylkill, and Philadelphia counties and boasts views of suburban, rural, and industrial views.

Bartam's Garden Park & Trail, also in Philadelphia, was ranked #4 for Best Urban Kayaking Spots. This 50-acre public park is also a National Historic Landmark and is known for it’s magical gardens, boating, kayaking, art, culture, and DIY-experiences.

BONUS: The Great Allegheny Passage, spanning Western Maryland and Pennsylvania, was listed at #9 of the Best Recreational Trails. This 150-mile long trail connecting Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD offers beautiful views and sights full of flourishing nature.
