The rhythm of Sir Rod Stewart's heart is currently beating like one of those machines that flatten asphalt into pavement, as he's been spotted filling potholes on a road near his English home in Harlow, Essex.

Stewart can be seen in videos posted to social media just a few days ago showing him and some helpers shoveling gravel off the back of a truck. Stewart says in the clip that they're out there repairing the road, because it seems, nobody else "could be bothered to do it." Rod captioned the clip saying, "Working for a living, filling holes is good for the soul!"
In a second clip, Stewart says that for years, people have been "bashing their cars up. The other day, there was an ambulance with a burst tire," he explained, before truly making his pain be felt. "My Ferrari can’t go through here at all," he added. "So, me and the boys thought we would come and do it ourselves."
Some locals were thrilled that Hot Rod & Co. decided to pick up their shovels to fix the problem, but others, namely those in charge of fixing roads in the town, were less than happy with the singer's efforts. A spokesperson for Essex Highways told HuffPost, "while we appreciate Sir Rod’s commitment and community spirit, we discourage anyone from carrying out work on the roads themselves,” adding, “without proper traffic management and other specific safety measures, residents are putting themselves and others at risk."
Let's be honest though, who's going to be able to gather enough speed on that muddy ski slalom filled with moguls to take out a knight the likes of Sir Roderick? Let the man repair the town's road, and save his Ferrari in the process.
