PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly: Learn how to salsa at a location that overlooks a lake at a historic boathouse in FDR Park; celebrate Painted Bride’s new West Philly location with a housewarming party; or, get your bug on at the Academy of Natural Sciences’ annual Bug Fest. DETAILS: Have you ever wanted to learn how to dance salsa or bachata? Every second and fourth Friday though Sept. 24, DJ Val Flores hosts a special night of dance classes followed by a few hours of social dance to show off your new skills.

Painted Bride's Official Housewarming Party

EVENT: Painted Bride's Official Housewarming Party

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 2 – 5 p.m.

WHERE: 5212 Market Street, West Philadelphia

DETAILS: Performance and gallery space Painted Bride Arts Center is celebrating the opening of its West Philly location with a block party. There will be free food, performances and activities for all ages.

Bug Fest

EVENT: Bug Fest

DATE/TIME: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

WHERE: The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, 1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

DETAILS: Bug Fest is back at the Academy of Natural Sciences with scientist-guided bug walks along the Parkway, roach races and more. You can also learn more about bees and aquatic invertebrates during this special, creepy-crawly weekend.

Summer of Love | ’60s Music Festival

EVENT: Summer of Love | ’60s Music Festival

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 2 – 10 p.m.

WHERE: Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge Avenue and Cooper Street, Haddon Township, N.J.

DETAILS: The ’60s-inspired Summer of Love Music Festival returns to Haddon Township for a day of live music, drinking in the beer garden and food truck treats. There will be plenty of activities for children, including a kids’ zone, foam party and more.

DETAILS: For the second year, more than 35 Main Line eateries will participate in a 14-day celebration of the community. Reservations are encouraged for dining in, and some restaurants may offer takeout options.
