Boyz II Men hits the Borgata, while “Man of a Thousand Voices” Joe Conklin uses his comic talents to help raise money for a good cause in Wildwood.
And if that’s not enough for you, some of the stars behind music’s biggest hits — like “Rock This Town,” “Gonna Make You Sweat” and “Whoomp! There It Is” — heat up the shore this weekend.
Boyz II Men at the Borgata Event Center
The Atlantic City boardwalk becomes MotownPhilly for a night as R&B legends Boyz II Men come to the Borgata on Friday, Aug. 16. Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris bring their smooth brand of soul to the Jersey Shore. The trio is sure to dip into their deep catalog, featuring hits like “End of the Road, “I’ll Make Love to You” and “On Bended Knee.” Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are available from $99.
Wildwoods Boardwalk Friday Night Fireworks
Wildwood is alive with bright, booming fireworks every Friday during the summer, and this week is no exception. Fireworks explode over the beach at Pine Avenue, synced to a soundtrack blasting from the boardwalk’s sound system. The free show starts at 10 p.m.
Rock the Dock
The Cathy Miller Cancer Fund’s 13th annual Rock the Dock event takes over Urie’s Waterfront Restaurant in Wildwood on Saturday, Aug. 17, from noon until 4 p.m. The party benefits the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge in Cheltenham and features live music from Philly band Second Vision — as well an appearance by comedian Joe Conklin, bringing his countless impressions to the shore. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door, while kids 12 years old and under get in free.
Stray Cats at Ocean Casino Resort
The Stray Cats are reunited and back on the road — and headed to Atlantic City this weekend! The ’80s rockabilly favorites are on tour with the original lineup of Brian Setzer, Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom. They’ll take the stage at Ocean Casino Resort Friday night at 9 p.m.
Joining the “Rock This Town” and “Stray Cat Strut” stars are the Midnight Cowgirls, an all-female country rock band featuring bassist Jennie Vee from Eagles of Death Metal. Tickets are available and start at $29.
Seaside Summer Freestyle Fest

Everybody dance now! C&C Music Factory heads up a body-moving bill on Saturday at Seaside Heights’ Beach Stage, on Blaine Avenue and the boardwalk. The Seaside Summer Freestyle Fest unites some of the biggest stars in freestyle dance music, which emerged in cities like New York, Miami and Philly.
The ’90s dance superstars are joined by “Show Me Love” singer Robin S., “Whoomp! There It Is” hitmakers Tag Team, and more! The show starts at 6:30 and tickets start at $39.50.
