
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly: July Fourth fun abounds with music, festivals and fireworks around the region. Jason Derulo, Ava Maxx and Tori Kelly are performing a free concert on the Parkway to culminate the Wawa Welcome America festival’s return to full capacity, and hot air balloons put on a show in Chester County. There’s plenty of fun for all ages this long holiday weekend.

DETAILS: Performers from Olive Dance Theatre and We The People Stage fill out an evening of spoken word, dance, and song performances to portray personal and historical stories rooted in expressions of freedom. The immersive experience aims to bring pivotal moments of history to life and tell the stories of influential individuals through diverse voices. Guests will enjoy music spun by DJs, food trucks, live artistic performances and interactive activities, with a grand fireworks finale over the Delaware River. DETAILS: The family-friendly Philly Balloon & Music Festival comes to the heart of the Chester County Countryside, bringing dozens of hot air balloons for both sunrise and evening glow shows. Guests can enjoy music from local bands, including a July 4th performance from Dylan Zangwell of America’s Got Talent, local food, beer, wine, bounce houses, hayrides and much more. DETAILS: Celebrate America’s Birthday at Renault’s Country Music Weekend with live country music. There will be lawn games, an ax-throwing trailer, food trucks, the Village Bar, sweet desserts and more at the property this festive summer weekend. The lineup includes performers from the local area and Nashville. Sunday guests will enjoy a special treat of a dazzling Independence Day fireworks show. Viewing area opens at 8:00 PM. DETAILS: The Philly POPS continues its 44-year Independence Day tradition with POPS on Independence. The POPS, conducted by Music Director and Principal Conductor David Charles Abell, will perform patriotic standards, pop favorites and more, featuring three-time GRAMMY® nominated singer and songwriter Ryan Shaw. This program is part of The Philly POPS Salute Series, honoring our nation’s traditions, values and commitment to service.

DETAILS: The Borough of Conshohocken is hosting the July Fireworks Display on Sunday, July 3 at Sutcliffe Park. This year’s fireworks display will be even bigger, so that fireworks may be visible from as many vantage points as possible throughout Conshohocken. Grab a chair or blanket and enjoy the show!

DETAILS: Philadelphia’s Independence Day parade returns with a new route and new elements. Miss America 2022, Emma Broyles, will serve as the grand marshal, accompanied by floats, United States military units, marching bands, cultural groups, dance performances, historical characters and much more. Spectators can line Market Street starting at 2nd street through to City Hall to take part in the fun.

DETAILS: The Party on the Parkway is back with two performance stages, entertainment, games, food trucks, giveaways and more. Kids can enjoy fun games and activities at the PECO Kids Zone and GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE will host a special Gabby’s Dance Party on the parkway where participants can learn a dance from Gabby & local dancers and spin the prize wheel. Be sure to check in with PA Turnpike for a chance to win access to the front section of the July 4th Concert via the E-ZPass Fast Pass.

DETAILS: The Wawa Welcome America festival culminates with a star-studded concert back on the Parkway, featuring performances by Jason Derulo, Ava Max and Tori Kelly. The concert will be followed by a breathtaking fireworks display at the Philadelphia Art Museum. While fireworks light up the sky, DJ Ghost will light up the airwaves with a set fully synced to the fireworks display. Entry is free, but there are some ticketed areas. If you can’t make it in person, the concert and fireworks show will also be televised live on NBC10 & TeleXitos.

DETAILS: The dragon is back! The fan favorite 200-foot-long lighted dragon is back in Franklin Square, a highlight of the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival.
