PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly: It’s time to stop and smell the roses at the Philadelphia Flower Show, returning to FDR Park for another year outdoors. This year’s theme, “In Full Bloom,” promotes good health, positive well-being, and a passion for life that culminates in a gorgeous and colorful spectacle. LGBTQ Pride Month events continue with activities in the suburbs, including drag performances and a special appearance from Alexis Cunningham of NBC’s “American Song Contest.” And if you’re looking for a way to get active, hop on your skateboard or bicycle and head over to The Rail Park for its first block party.

L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival

EVENT: L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival
DATE/TIME: Monday-Friday, 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday, 1 p.m. - 10 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
WHERE: 2140 Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees, N.J.
DETAILS: Rides, games, food and the midway return to Voorhees Town Center for the annual L.E.A.D. Fest carnival, in support of Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence.

The Garden

EVENT: The Garden
DATE/TIME: Friday through Sunday
WHERE: Dilworth Park, Philadelphia
DETAILS: Spend the weekend outdoors surrounded by blooming bursts of bright colors and foliage. Entertainers will roam The Garden space on the western flank of City Hall, while guests snap selfies and sample a full menu of seasonal dishes at the Air Grille Garden. Live DJs and local musicians will play throughout the weekend. Roller skating, lawn games and kid-friendly crafts will also be available. Full programming of events and activities are listed online.

Free Yoga at Eastern State Penitentiary

DETAILS: Every Friday in the month of June at 7 p.m. inside Eastern State Penitentiary, free yoga with Dr. Clark is sponsored by Yoga4Philly.org. Participants must sign up in advance.

Philadelphia Flower Show

DETAILS: The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event, will be outdoors at FDR Park once again. This year’s theme, “In Full Bloom,” promotes good health, positive well-being, and a passion for life that culminates in a gorgeous and colorful spectacle.

Cherry Hill Mall Food Truck Festival

EVENT: Cherry Hill Mall Food Truck Festival

WHERE: Cherry Hill Mall, Church Road side of the mall by Macy’s and JC Penney

Chester County Pride Fest

DETAILS: Chester County’s 5th Annual Pride Fest returns to Bridge Street in Phoenixville on Saturday with a full day of entertainment and celebration. Alexis Cunningham from NBC’s “American Song Contest” kicks off the festivities on the main stage at noon, followed by drag performances starting at 1:30 p.m., hosted by Fanci DisMount Stratton, Miss Chester County Pride Fest 2021-2022.

EVENT: Islamic Heritage Festival

DETAILS: As part of the PECO Multicultural Series, the Islamic Heritage Festival takes center stage at Penn’s Landing this weekend. The all-day festival includes the Unity in Diversity Parade, performances, vendors, and children’s activities such as face painting, and more.

Rail Park Block Party

DETAILS: Friends of The Rail Park are sponsoring the first annual Rail Park Block Party, a day of community connection and celebration. During this free event, Noble Street will come alive with family-friendly activities, live performances and public displays. Activities include bike-riding and skateboarding lessons (registration required), railroad history trivia, a cello performance, music, games, dog-friendly activities and much more.

Odunde Festival

EVENT: Odunde Festival 2022

WHERE: 23rd and South street, Philadelphia
DETAILS: The Odunde Festival is the largest African American street festival in the country. Each year, on the second Sunday in June, the Odunde Festival covers 15 city blocks, bringing a genuine taste of African cultures to South Street and one of Philadelphia’s oldest, historically Black neighborhoods. More than 100 vendors will line the streets selling crafts, clothing, jewelry and more, and two stages will carry an array of musical performances, including a set from rapper Doug E. Fresh on the main stage at 6:30 p.m.
