Brandon Graham: 'I'm so happy Fletch is still here'

The Eagles were reportedly receiving calls for defensive tackle Fletcher Cox leading up to yesterday's trade deadline, but ultimately Howie Roseman and the front office decided to keep the six-time Pro Bowler.

Cox's teammate, Brandon Graham, talked about how happy he was to hear Cox is remaining an Eagle.

"I'm so happy Fletch is still here, I would have been sick because you know, I've been with Fletcher for a long time," Graham told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday. "But I understand it's a business side and that's where you got to take the emotions out. I hope it was the best for both parties and that's what it was. I'm just hype that Fletch is here. Hopefully I get another year with him next year, we can play together if it's gonna be one more time—one more great time. I can just control what I can control here and that's hopefully playing with Fletch next year."

Cox, 30, and Graham, 33, are both lifelong Eagles. BG was Philadelphia's 13th overall pick in 2010 out of Michigan and two years later Cox was the team's 12th overall pick out of Mississippi State. This is their ninth year together on Philadelphia's defensive line.

"Fletch work hard every day," Graham, who is out for the season with a torn Achilles, said. "He's one of those guys who holds you accountable, makes sure you know what you're doing out there...Fletch is the guy that is going to keep you locked in. He's always addressing that elephant in the room trying to make sure he maximizes you can do as a player. We talk about those things all of the time. Fletch is a great guy, I'm excited for him. I hope these next eight games, nine games he's a dominant force like he wants to be."

Cox has struggled a bit this season, at least on the stat sheet, and made some public remarks after the team's Week 7 loss to the Raiders that has some people wondering if he still wants to be an Eagle.

"Honestly, it's just not what it's been," Cox told the media after the Eagles' 33-22 loss to the Raiders. "Obviously, you just have to play what's being called and when you're so used to playing so aggressive the last—however many years I've been playing—it just changed. So, you can't just be as aggressive, kind of got to play what's being called."

Yesterday, Cox posted this on his Instagram account.
