The Yankees made another roster move on Friday, claiming RHP McKinley Moore off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees placed RHP Lou Trivino, who was signed Thursday as he continues his rehab from Tommy John surgery, to the 60-day injured list.
Moore, 25, made his MLB debut last April and threw 3 1/3 innings over three appearances with the Phillies before being sent to the minors. He missed most of the middle of the season due to injuries – he made just three appearances between May 19 and Sept. 5 – but did post a 1.33 ERA in 20 1/3 innings, with 37 strikeouts, in 20 relief outings across three levels.
Originally a 14th-round pick of the White Sox out of Arkansas-Little Rock in 2019, Moore has a 3.92 ERA and 12 saves in 133 innings pitched over 118 appearances in four MiLB seasons.
Moore was designated for assignment Wednesday when the Phillies officially signed RHP Spencer Turnbull, and he has at least two minor-league options remaining.
