In a one-time-only podcast session, rappers Doja Cat and Ice Spice went back and forth with rapid-fire questions about celebrity crushes, feeling like “a baddie,” and more.

As a feature on Unwell’s Close Friends Only with Instagram podcast, friends and fellow rappers Doja Cat and Ice Spice took turns interviewing one another. The rappers are cut-and-dry yet hilarious, covering questions about their favorite emojis to what gives them “the ick.” Doja Cat even revealed that she hates spiders, despite their presence in her Scarlet album, tour, and overall persona. “You’re gonna attract some spiders with that” Ice Spice teased, to which Doja replied, “I know, I feel like I am. But it's conquering fear.”
When asked about her first celebrity crush, however, Ice Spice became uncharacteristically shy. “Ugh it’s so embarrassing… I shouldn’t say it right? Should I?” Ice Spice began, already blushing. Despite the initial hesitation, she went for it. “I’m just gonna say it, it was Usher.”
“I saw him at the Met Gala,” she explained, “and it was, like, my first time ever seeing him, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, it’s him.” Doja was nodding along the whole time, clearly seeing Usher attractively as well. “He’s beautiful” Doja Cat stated in agreement, to which Spice quickly replied, “Gorgeous man.”
Doja Cat and Ice Spice are far from the only ones to find Usher attractive, as celebrities and fans alike have been fawning over the musician at his “My Way” Vegas residency. Musician H.E.R. admitted on Instagram that she was “fangirling so hard” when Usher serenaded her a few days ago, writing, “USHER, IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!!!!!!!! THANK FOR SERENADING ME.” And back in the summer, an interaction between Keke Palmer and Usher at his concert went viral when her then-partner publicly criticized her outfit choice. Palmer seemed to throw the musician's good looks back in her ex’s face by featuring on his revenge single “Boyfriend.” The musician has been a heartthrob ever since his debut back in 1994, but a shout out from two of today’s biggest female rappers will surely help ramp up some buzz before his Super Bowl Halftime Show.
As for what makes Ice Spice feel "gorgeous" herself, she revealed she’s a big fan of the 90s whale tail look. “Showing my panty? Instant baddie,” she said. “Like I could have sweats on, but if I’m showing my panty? Bad b****” For Doja, there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about revealing the fabric, as she has long been a proponent of women’s freedom in fashion. “There’s something about it,” Doja Cat added. “Just pulling it up on the hip. And it’s not, like, offensive. It’s totally fine, it doesn’t hurt anyone to just show a little panty, just a little bit.”
