Rising Pop artist and collaborator on Demi Lovato’s “What Other People Say,” Sam Fischer, spoke with Audacy’s AJ Gibson and Mikalah Gordon on Channel Q about the making of the hit song and how it’s changed his career path completely.

The artist says that before this collaboration he was facing many challenges and had no idea the song would take off in the way it has. Now the artist is dipping his toes in the water with performing the song live, most recently on The Ellen Show.
Fischer says that collaborating with Demi was incredible because they have lived “such a prolific life for the last 28 years...” Sam adds that they are both very different humans having gone through very different things, but he and Lovato connected over their music.
“That’s the beauty of this song,” notes Fischer, “people can find themselves in the emotion of it, regardless of who you are or where you come from...”
Sam shared the right before his performance with Demi on The Ellen Show, the artist said that Demi practiced a “micro-meditation” session and then told him “ ‘you know Ellen was my very first live TV performance, so I know how you feel. And just know I’m with you and if you get nervous just look at me, I’ve got you.’”
