Teddy Swims and his parter and fellow musician Raiche Wright have announced they are expecting their first child.

Sharing the exciting news with a joint Instagram post on January 8, the duo shared a carousel of pics showing the couple loved up on a beach somewhere, with Wright’s growing baby bump on full display. “We can’t wait to meet you, baby 🤍✨,” the accompanying caption expressed the post, which has since been flooded with an outpouring of congratulations in the comments section.
The announcement starts off Swims’ new year with a bang, after an extremely successful last one. Teddy, whose soulful anthem “Lose Control” has definitively put him on the map, was crowned Billboard’s year-end 2024 Hot 100 Song of the Year. Also topping out own list, claiming the No. 1 spot on Audacy’s 2024 Top Songs.
The track achieved the longest climb to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a solo male artist, after taking 32 weeks to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 2024. “Lose Control” solidified its place in music history, spending over 30 weeks on the Hot 100 and dominating the Top 10 for an impressive 45 weeks. The song also achieved global success, reaching No. 1 in several countries and even earning diamond certification in France.
A singer-songwriter in her own right, Raiche released her sophomore album Loveland in 2023. Since going public with their relationship in 2024, Wright has frequently joined Swims on tour, and even joins him onstage to perform duets.
“She does what I do, which is great,” Swims expressed during an episode of The Kyle & Jackie O Show in July. “Because it’s like maybe 3AM and I’m calling her and she’s like ‘Yeah, yeah I’m in a session. I’m recording vocals.’ And I’m like, ‘Girl, yeah, handle your business, baby.’”
