Getting a COVID-19 vaccine just got a little easier.
CVS on Wednesday announced the chain is now accepting walk-in COVID-19 vaccination appointments, a far cry from late-night shot hunters frantically trying to book appointments online before they were snatched up.
With the announcement, no appointment is necessary pending vaccine supply. As of now, only select CVS pharmacies that are offering the vaccines are participating.
The announcement includes CVS locations across the country and same-day scheduling within an hour of the appointment.
The scheduling software will also be updated to reflect canceled appointments.
"We continue to orchestrate an all-out effort to vaccinate the nation against COVID-19," CVS Health President and CEO Karen Lynch said in a statement.
The CVS website offers a tool to search for participating locations.
An estimated 1,115 locations in California are included.
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden ordered all pharmacies taking part in America’s federal vaccine program to allow walk-ins. In total, CVS Health has surpassed 17 million COVID-19 vaccine doses across 49 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.
